Nelnet Student Account Portal Setup for Incoming Students
The Fall 2024 bill is now available to students and families via the Nelnet Student Account Portal and will be due on August 2, 2024. The link to the e-bill was sent by e-mail to students and their Authorized Parties. The e-mail came from our billing partner, Nelnet, from the email address noreply@campuscommerce.com with subject: BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY BILL AVAILABLE. If you do not receive the email, please check your spam filters. Students can access their billing details by clicking the Nelnet Student Account Portal link found within the Student Account worklet in Workday. Students who have never accessed the Nelnet Student Account Portal before will need to set up their student profile (refer to the Nelnet - Account Access job aid for detailed instructions) before they can view the bill. In order for parents, guardians, sponsors, or another party to receive the student's tuition bill, view the student account, and make payments, the student must add them as Authorized Parties in Nelnet. Once they are set up as an Authorized Party, parents/guardians can access Nelnet directly with their own usernames and passwords; they cannot use the student's log-in credentials to access the portal. Review your e-bill and the Transaction Details in Nelnet. The Fall 2024 e-bill (PDF) is only a snapshot in time; any subsequent charges, financial aid and/or payments will only be reflected in the Transaction Details in Nelnet. If you have questions about the balance or payment options contact Brandeis Student Financial Services at sfs@brandeis.edu or 781-736-3700.
Health & Immunization documentation (Due June 30): Go to the Brandeis Health Center website for detailed instructions on how to submit your health care information via the secure patient portal. You are required by Massachusetts State Regulation 105 CMR 220to provide Immunization documentation prior to attending school. We recommend that you arrange to obtain your immunizations, physical exam records, blood work, and tuberculosis screenings as needed from your healthcare provider as soon as possible. Once you have submitted your documentation, it will be verified by the Health Center. You will receive correspondence via the secure patient portal to confirm your compliance status. Non-Compliance can lead to a class registration hold.
If you have any questions about these health requirements, please contact the Health Center directly at brandeishealthcenter@brandeis.edu or 781-736-3677.
Health Insurance: To ensure compliance with Massachusetts law, students who are registered for three-quarter to full-time status are automatically billed for the Student Health Plan, unless a waiver form is completed before the deadline date of July 1, 2024, for the 2024-25 academic year.
It is important that students have access to comprehensive health care while enrolled at Brandeis University; therefore we encourage you to consider your options carefully as you complete the enrollment and/or waiver process.
University Health Plans will continue to manage the enrollment and waiver process for the 2024-25 academic year. For information on the plan and access to the annual enrollment and waiver forms, please go to www.universityhealthplans.com and select Brandeis University. The enrollment and waiver forms will be linked on the left-hand side of the page.
If you have any questions about the waiver, enrollment process or general questions regarding the insurance plan or requirements, please call University Health Plans directly. A University Health Plans representative is available at 800-437-6448 or via emailat info@univhealthplans.com to assist you.
International Students: All international students are automatically enrolled and do not have the option to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan. The cost will be added to their student account. Brandeis requires this because international health insurance plans are often not recognized in the US and do not comply with the Massachusetts Student Health Plan Regulations and the Brandeis University waiver requirements.
Pre-arrival Modules by the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO)
The "International Student Pre-Arrival Modules" were created to assist international students as they prepare for their arrival at Brandeis University. These modules are required for all incoming undergraduate and graduate F-1 and J-1 students and should be completed before arrival at Brandeis. International students who have been admitted to Brandeis University will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the modules approximately one month before their program start date.

Accommodations at Brandeis
A reasonable accommodation can be an added support, the removal of a barrier, an adjustment to a policy, or other modification of materials, practices, and spaces.
Accommodations are designed to support equal access for people with disabilities/medical conditions. Requests for accommodations that would fundamentally alter the nature of a course, assignment, experience, etc., or would result in an "undue hardship" as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act may not be considered reasonable and may not be approved.
Depending on the nature of the disability and the particular needs of the student, students may utilize a variety of supports. These can include, but are not limited to:Please Note: Essential programmatic requirements cannot be altered and are determined by faculty and departments. As a student at Brandeis, you are expected to meet all academic and behavioral expectations of both the courses you are taking and of the broader campus community. | |
